Vigorous open tree with very nice horizontal branches.
Blossom
Two days before Golden Delicious; triploid (anther dust of bad quality). The use of pollinator-trees is required Breaburn, Cox's, Elstar, Gala, Pinova and Topaz are suitable to use as pollonator-varieties.
Productivity
Very early and regular with good yields; easy thinning and not sensitive to alternace.
Picking period
Late September.
Shape
Quite big sized (75-85mm); red (70-90%) and no russet.
Very homogeneous regarding size and coloration. The Red Jonaprince Select® distinguishes itself from the Red Jonaprince® by a more friendly staining which is initiated even earlier (even under the branches of the tree) relative to the 'normal'Red Jonaprince.
Flavour
Medium firm; quite aromatic and juicy.
Shelf life
Storage (under ULO-conditions) possible till late August.
