Moderate, horizontal till upright branches. Easy tree, suceptible to scab like Jonagold. Susceptible to Meldew like Elstar.
Blossom
One till three days earlier than Elstar and Golden Delicious. Good pollen quality. Good pollinators are crab apples, Junami, Elstar, Granny Smith, Wellant and / or Cox's.
Productivity
Good.
Picking period
First time half September, three times picking necessary for uniformiteit.
Firsttime can come together with Conference picking. Second pick 5 till 6 days after the firstpick, thirth pick even 5 till 6 days later.
Shape
Brightly red striped blush over a yellow-green background. Characteristic dark red striped on the red blush 80%. Has a strong and fris exterior!
Flavour
Rubnes is very juicy, colour of the flesh is yellow and sometimes green-white, texture is crisp. Straight from the tree the Rubens has his karakteristic and delisius taste.
