Rubin x Vanda.
By J. Tupy, Strizovice, Tsjechien, 1984.
Upright growing, with a large crown and strong branches.
Mid-season with high quality anther dust. The use of pollinator-trees is required.
Early with good yields. Thinning is required in order to reach a good size of the apples.
Late September till late October.
Medium sized with a flat shape, light orange-red blush.
Quite sour, Topaz needs to be stored (at least one month) for a better taste. After storage Red Toaz has a sweet-sour aromatic taste with firm and juicy pulp.
Storage is possible till late April (under ULO-conditions) combined with a very good shelf life. The peel is slightly greasy after storage.
