A colour mutation of
Jonagold Boerekamp 'Early Queen ®' is discovered in 1986 by mr J. Boerekamp from Someren, The Netherlands.
The vigour of Jonagold Boerekamp 'Early Queen ® is comparible with other Jonagold-varieries.
Mid-season, triploid (anther dust of low quality). The use of pollinator-trees is required.
Early and regular with good yields.
The Jonagold Boerekamp 'Early Queen ®' can be picked a little bit earlier relative to the most of the other Jonagold-varieties.
Partly thanks to harvesting a little earlier, a great part of the yield is between 75-85mm. The apples which are in the shadow of the branches can reach is bright red color (70-80%) in combination with a nice green backgroundcolor.
Because of the sugar value, the sour value and the firmness the Jonagold Boerekamp 'Early Queen ®' can be sold as a high-quality apple.
Jonagold Boerekamp 'Early Queen ®' is suitable for long storage (under ULO-conditions), combined with a very good shelf life.
